The 2017 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru is concentrated on the nose, offering raspberry, wild strawberry, crushed stone and then a potent but completely simpatico floral element suggesting rose petals and peony. The palate is medium-bodied with crushed rocks infusing the mixture of red and black fruit; hints of black truffle and graphite come through with time. Serious and quite compelling.
