Rare Finds + A New Release
Napa’s Golden Era
Hello Collectors,
The “tens” (2010–2019) were a golden era for Napa – vintage after vintage of exceptional quality with virtually no underperformers. Now that we’re well into the 2020s, these are the years I believe are most worth stocking up on. Many of these wines are just entering their prime drinking windows and should remain there for another decade or two, if not longer. Prices are also tremendously appealing, in some cases at or even below original release.
While some critics have noted how prolific Napa was during this period, the quality across the board is undeniable. Highlights from this offer include benchmark Napa estates such as 2017 Eisele, 2019 Corison, and the 100-point 2002 Joseph Phelps Insignia, including a rare three-liter format, about which Robert Parker wrote “I wish I had purchased more of this spectacular wine for my personal collection.”
Bond is particularly well represented with multiple vintages of Pluribus, St Eden, Melbury, Vecina, and Quella spanning 2010 through 2019, showcasing the precision and consistency of Harlan’s single-vineyard sites. For further aging, we’ve secured Scarecrow in both 2018 and the near-perfect, small-yield 2021 vintage.
Schrader collectors will find an exceptional lineup anchored by Old Sparky, spanning vintages from 2012 through 2019. Additional standouts include Realm Beckstoffer To Kalon, the deep-cut cult 2012 Dunn Trailer – one of the final releases (just 300 cases) before the vineyard was replanted. Rounding out the offer are increasingly scarce classics like 1997 Chateau Montelena Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, and we’ve got two fresh releases from Occidental: 2023 Occidental Station Vineyard and Bodega Ridge Vineyard. All these wines are rated 97+ points and come with perfect provenance.
