Paris Changed the Conversation

Hello Collectors,

As you’ve probably noticed, there’s been a lot of hype lately in the wine press surrounding the 50th anniversary of the Judgement of Paris, and with good reason. It truly launched California wines onto the international stage, and minus a few fits and starts, the trajectory has been decidedly skyward.

Today’s offer celebrates the friendly rivalry between France and the US. While many of us tend to fall firmly into one camp or the other, we encourage you to take another look at producers that exemplify the best of California, perhaps side by side with some choice Bordeaux or Burgundy. Wine enjoyment can encompass a range of regions, styles, and varietals, so don’t limit yourself to just one corner of the world. And if California has been your go-to, reach out for recommendations on some of the iconic producers of France.

We’re always happy to advise if that task seems daunting (I too like to take the occasional Alliance Française class just to polish up my pronunciation!), and for some on-the-ground enjoyment – and education – I very much encourage you to explore our upcoming journey to Bordeaux.

And today we’ve got a seriously stacked lineup spanning blue-chip Bordeaux, cult Napa, and benchmark Burgundy. Highlights include legends from Lafleur, Mouton Rothschild, and Château alongside rare Burgundy from Armand Rousseau, Lamarche, and Dauvissat. Napa collectors will gravitate toward an incredible run of Bond bottlings, Hundred Acre, Lokoya, Sloan Estate, and as Colgin Cellars, with mature vintages and as always, pristine provenance throughout the offering.
