The 2023 La Tâche Grand Cru was picked on September 10 and 11 at 37.5 hl/ha. Comparing it directly with the 2023 Romanée-Conti, this has slightly more intensity. It is ineffably complex with crushed stone, heather-strewn moorland and subtle estuarine scents that gradually gather momentum with aeration. As usual, this is endowed with heavenly delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grained tannins, pitch-perfect acidity, real depth and insistent grip, though the tannins are cloaked by that gorgeous dark berry fruit mixed with blood orange and sage. Long and tender on the aftertaste, this is a magnificent La Tâche. 26,887 bottles produced. [Neal Martin, 02/01/2026]
