The 2023 Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru is another potent, massively backward wine in this range from Domaine de la Romanee-Conti. Black fruit, incense, gravel, cured meat, cloves and dried flowers power through as this structured young Burgundy gradually starts to come out of its shell. Time in the glass brings out lovely spice, blood orange and star anise overtones that add an exotic flair. Like all the 2023s, the Grands Echezeaux is at is most expressive with a few hours of aeration. Sublime. [Antonio Galloni, 31/03/2026]
