2021 Domaine Meo Camuzet, Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru 1x750ml

The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a sweet and quite candied bouquet, plush in style, more like a 2022 than a 2021! Quite sensual, if just missing some complexity. The palate is medium-bodied with pliant tannins that exert just the right amount of grip. Good density, though not overpowering, this delivers a pleasing pepperiness on the finish, though it is slowly dismantled by air in the glass, depriving it of Grand Cru pedigree. I believe Meo-Camuzet have crafted much better than this in other vintages. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting. [Neal Martin, 01/10/2025]
