The 2020 Meursault Clos des Bouchères 1er Cru has a slightly richer bouquet than its peers, though it is well-defined with subtle oily scents permeating the honeyed fruit. Nuanced, especially following on from the reductive Antoine Jobard. The palate is nicely balanced with a fine bead of acidity, taut and fresh with walnut and smoke developing towards the finish. I appreciate that this has real Meursault DNA and real depth and sapidity. Excellent. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
