One of the more reserved, introverted wines on the day of my visit was the 2019 Ruchottes-Chambertin Grand Cru, a serious cuvee that unwinds in the glass to reveal notes of cassis and raspberries mingled with sweet soil tones, blood orange, cinnamon and incense. Full-bodied, layered and lively, it’s concentrated and tightly wound, with lively acids, youthfully chalky tannins and a long, penetrating finish. [William Kelley, 12/22/2020]
