Displaying a deep opaque purple color, the 2017 Materium Cabernet Sauvignon has a profound, very serious nose of baked plums, blueberry pie and raisin cake with wafts of dried herbs, chargrill and tilled soil. Full-bodied, concentrated and with somewhat surprisingly plush tannins, it has a lovely burst of freshness coming through on the long, earth-laced finish. [Lisa Perrotti-Brown, 07/22/2019]
