Tasting Notes

Vinous 93

Pale, bright yellow. Lemon zest, orange oil and crushed stone on the nose, with strong calcaire pungency. Densely packed, fine-grained and pliant, showing lovely subtle sweetness to its intense flavors of lemon, lime and crushed stone. This very deep, sappy wine possesses the stuffing and extract to make its alcohol virtually disappear. Very long and alive on the aftertaste. Displays a bit less obvious power but more inner-mouth saline_ calcaire_ lift than the Corton; in fact, this may be more backward. [Stephen Tanzer, 01/09/2017]

Anticipated maturity: 2021-2028

Robert Parker 91

The 2015 Chevalier-Montrachet Grand Cru has a composed, well-defined bouquet, quite fumé in style with intense citrus fruit, orange blossom, tangerine and touches of grey slate. There is something almost Riesling like here. The palate is very well balanced with crisp citrus fruit, a keen line of acidity and a light nuttiness that comes through with aeration. I would have just liked more on the back palate – it seems to just dip before the finish line when you want it to deliver the same degree of sophistication exhibited by the aromatics. Maybe it will with time? [Neal Martin, 09/28/2017]

Anticipated maturity: 2020-2035
