The 2015 Proprietary Blend is Brand’s Cabernet Franc/Cabernet Sauvignon blend. Mocha, sweet herb, plum and spice give the 2015 a distinctive aromatic upper register to play off the huge, powerful fruit. Readers should expect a full-throttle, super-concentrated expression of Pritchard Hill.
Anticipated maturity: 2020-2030
Potentially perfect, if it continues to evolve the way it appears, is the blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Cabernet Franc – the 2015 Proprietary Red. Off-the-charts aromatics of spring flowers, roasted coffee, incense, lead pencil shavings and pen ink along with blue and black fruits are followed by a multidimensional wine built like a skyscraper. It is layered, rich and seamless with incredible intensity and glycerin. The tannins were almost impossible to detect, given the wealth and extravagance of fruit. Drink it over the next 15-20 years.
Anticipated maturity: 2016-2036
