The 2013 Pinot Noir Legan Vineyard is bright, focused and absolutely impeccable in its balance. In this vintage, the Legan is all about subtlety and grace. Orange zest, sage, mint and sweet red cherries are all laced together in a Pinot that captures the essence of the Santa Cruz Mountains. The 2013 has really shut down post-bottling, but it begins to uncoil with time in the glass. These own-rooted Mt. Eden clone vines on sandy soils yield an especially perfumed Pinot underpinned with brilliant saline notes. [Antonio Galloni, 01/01/2015]
