The 2011 Bonnes-Mares is an exotic, beguiling beauty. White pepper, spices and orange peel add an attractive upper register of perfume as the wine opens up in the glass. Pomegranate, spices, mint and savory herbs are all woven together nicely in the glass. The 20-30% whole clusters are nicely integrated. I especially like the salinity of the finish in the 2011. If opened young, the 2011 needs plenty of air for some slight elements of reduction to blow off. [Antonio Galloni, 01/04/2014]
