The 2008 Coeur de Cuvée stands out for its vinous intensity, richness and depth. In a vintage where many Champagnes lean towards the more austere side of things, the Coeur de Cuvée is wonderfully deep and layered. Candied lemon, pear, slate, smoke and spices are given an extra kick of breadth from vinification and aging in oak barrels. This is a super-impressive Champagne with more than enough stuffing to drink well for another decade plus. Even so, it is fabulous today. [Antonio Galloni, 01/08/2016]
