Tasted single blind at Southwold. Not a familiar name but it proved popular in a blind peer group tasting. It has a rather musty nose at first but it does gain freshness in the glass. The palate is dry on the entry, abrasive tannins, pointed black fruit, liquorice with dry finish. Very traditional in style but it does seem to have charm and the palate feels fresh and invigorated afterwards. One to seek out? Drink now-2016. Tasted January 2009.
Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016
