Wine of the tasting. A lovely nose of raspberry, cherry and redcurrants – beguiling purity and delineation. It actually smells of Pinot Noir (hoorah). The palate has superb balance with supple tannins. Red berried fruits, very elegant with a hint of mocha on the finish. Cohesive and harmonious – if only all the 2003’s could be like this. Top class. Vinous 93

Medium red. Aromas of raspberry, minerals and smoked meat, with a positive earthy nuance. Dense and sweet, with a wonderfully silky, thick texture and solid mineral underpinning. This is thicker and broader than the Clos Saint-Jacques but more backward. Mounts slowly toward the back and builds impressively, finishing with a hint of medicinal austerity. This is quite fresh for the year, and the tannins are fine. [Stephen Tanzer, 03/01/2006]
