Glorious Tuscany
Hello Collectors,
Continuing our streak of offering incredible Italian wines, today’s offer is all about glorious Tuscany – perhaps you’ve visited, longed to go, or, lucky you, have a trip planned in the coming months to what I’d argue is one of the most beautiful corners of an already gorgeous country. Of all the wine regions I’ve been lucky enough to visit, nothing rivals traveling through the majestic Val d’Orcia’s sunlit, golden slopes, knowing you’re heading to a quintessential hilltop village like Montalcino, Montepulciano, or Pienza. The almost next best thing, of course, is drinking a perfectly aged Brunello or Super Tuscan.
From the Bolgheri coast, there’s serious pedigree here, including multiple vintages of Guado al Tasso, alongside heavyweights like Sassicaia and beautifully aged bottles of Ornellaia and Masseto, including large formats. Brunello is equally impressive, with classic expressions from Casanova di Neri, Poggio di Sotto, Valdicava, and Marroneto. In Chianti Classico and beyond, Fontodi’s Flaccianello and Petrolo’s Galatrona show Tuscany’s depth outside of Montalcino, while a few thoughtful additions – like Monteraponi and Riecine – round out the offering, including a range $200 and under.
