I always get asked the same question: if you could drink from only one category of wine for the rest of your life, what would it be? Much to the surprise of many of you, I would actually choose Champagne. My shopping list would look a lot like today’s offer, a mix of the very best names and vintages alongside a dynamic group of growers making elite-level Champagne.

Starting with the growers, we have a terrific trio to highlight, including more Pierre Péters Les Chétillons! We offered these several weeks ago on a Saturday, and they were gone within a few hours. The next one that should disappear quickly is Dhondt-Grellet. This producer has become near and dear to my heart, as the wines combine richness with excellent structure and freshness. Critics are flipping out for these, and sadly, I see a day in the not-too-distant future when they become heavily allocated and available only in tiny quantities. Speaking of allocated and tiny quantities, we have a few bottles of Ulysse Collin to share. His meteoric rise began under the mentorship of none other than Anselme Selosse.

Transitioning to the big houses, we kick things off with a classic, 2002 Dom Pérignon. Unless you own more than 10 cases of this, I can’t imagine a world where you have enough. This is a brilliant Champagne that works for just about any occasion. Similarly, we have some wonderfully aged Krug Grande Cuvée from before the current edition-numbering system. Older Grande Cuvée can best some of the biggest names on any Champagne list, and with the aging already done for you, these are hard to pass up. Taittinger’s Comtes de Champagne Rosé has been on a serious roll lately, and the 2013 is yet another brilliant example. We close with a few great vintages of Salon, arguably one of the most coveted Champagnes on the market today.
