Geeking Out
Bernaudeau, Ganevat, Quintarelli and more!
Hello Collectors,
So much of what we focus on is the best of the best. Truthfully, as much as we enjoy those wines, we get plenty more out of drinking well-priced, interesting wines from the depths of the four corners of the wine world. There are so many great wines from regions with unique varietals, or even just different expressions of common varietals, but there is never a lack of quality, or value.
The Jura has become a hot bed for great wine, and we have two of the best. First is Pélican, the masterful project from Guillaume D’angerville, who leases vines from the legendary Puffeney, in addition to owning some prime vineyards too. Speaking of legends, we have an amazing case of the Grands Teppes, one of the flagship wines of Ganevat. Another French white wine gem is the mind-boggling Chenin Blanc from Stephane Bernaudeau. These last few bottles need to be in your cellar!
Italy shines bright today, with two icons of northern Italy: Borgo del Tiglio is a benchmark producer of Fruili, mastering both reds and whites, while Guiseppe Quintarelli is the master of Veneto. His Amarone and Alzero, an incredible expression of Cabernet Franc, are among the most sought-after and both will age effortlessly. Last year we introduced you to Newfound, a small producer in California that’s finding greatness at every turn. Fortunately, these are incredibly well-priced too!
