Revisiting the Pinnacle of Single Vineyard Chardonnay and Pinot Noir
Kosta Browne
Hello Collectors,
We are re-visiting our successful Kosta Browne offer since we still have some gems left! And now, everything is in stock and ready to get to you before the holidays! We’ve added a wide-ranging selection from Sonoma’s benchmark producer of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay: Kosta Browne. From Dan Kosta and Michael Browne’s humble start in 1997, Kosta Browne’s legacy rests on deep, enduring partnerships with renowned grape-growing families and a steadfast commitment to showcasing the unique character of each vineyard.
KB, as it is affectionately known, has embodied the union of unique terroirs with a visionary winemaking team. Led for the last decade by the tremendously talented and precise Julien Howsepian, KB continues to craft wines from a remarkable array of single vineyards in Sonoma and beyond, and, more recently, with successful forays into Burgundy and Oregon.
I have a soft spot for Gap’s Crown and Gary’s (Garys Pisoni and Franscioni) Vineyard, both storied sites whose characteristics Kosta Browne captures so well. The estate series bottlings (Bootlegger’s, Cerise and Treehouse) are equally impressive: ripe yet restrained, vibrant yet refined, and built to age with grace. The Russian River Chardonnay and Pinot Noir lineup is a masterclass in drawing the very best from this AVA’s diverse vineyards. Moving beyond the Russian River Valley into Anderson Valley and into Burgundy and Oregon, Kosta Browne has thoughtfully and sustainably grown beyond typical regional boundaries in order to keep their mission unwaveringly exciting!
While many of the younger vintages will reward patience in the cellar, there’s no reason not to pull a cork now and enjoy them in their vibrant youth. I hope you’ll explore these stunning, singular wines, and don’t miss the sparkling cuvée. The prices make them even harder to resist!
