The Monday Offer
New World Greatness
Hello Collectors,
I’m sure you glanced at the wines in the subject line and thought, well, that’s a bit different. And you’d be right. While our focus is often firmly on California, we rarely spotlight the other great regions of the New World. Maybe you’ll catch a glimpse of Grange here and there, but that’s about it. These wines deserve far more attention, as they offer not only immense quality, but remarkable value.
Leading today’s offer is a stellar lineup of recent releases (plus a few beautifully aged gems) from Clos Apalta. As the world’s most renowned producer of the rare Bordeaux varietal Carménère, they craft a singular expression of New World greatness. Their Clos du Lican, a Syrah with a distinct “northern Rhône” sensibility, adds another dimension to the range. And speaking of northern Rhône style, Washington superstar and cult producer Kobayashi joins the mix with their elegant Syrah, an incredible Cabernet Franc, and a Mizunara-aged Cabernet Franc—a wine that truly must be smelled (and tasted) to be believed.
The lineup also features long-established names: Andrew Will (founded 1989), Beaux Frères (1992), Quilceda Creek (1979), alongside newer stars like Horsepower, Morgen Long, Nicolas Jay (owned by Méo-Camuzet!), Rose & Arrow, Trothe, and X Novo (from former Joseph Phelps winemaker Craig Williams). It’s a bounty of deliciousness, and with so much to love, this might just be the perfect time to take home a sampler.
