The Bottles You'll Want This Holiday Season
Hello Collectors,
Yes, it’s only July, but please hear us out. While the winter holiday season may feel far away, we’re firm believers that it’s never too early to prepare for everything the Thanksgiving through New Year’s marathon of gatherings entails. The best hosts always seem to have the right bottle ready, whether friends stop by unexpectedly or the evening turns into a larger celebration. And that preparation can start now. If you have storage with us, it’s even easier, as we can seamlessly add these bottles to your collection to await the holiday season. Trust us, you will thank yourself in a few months for your initiative!
I’ll be stocking up on Adrien Renoir’s Élevage Long and Pierre Paillard’s electric Munier Vieilles Vignes after enjoying both at our annual fried chicken and Champagne night in Chicago last week. I’m also looking at some mature Bordeaux, white Burgundy, and Piedmont that are drinking beautifully today, along with even more Champagnes, including the captivating 2013 Taittinger Comtes Rosé.
We’ve got everything from ready-to-drink Bordeaux like the iconic 2000 Lafleur and wallet-pleasing 2003 Pichon Baron to cellar-worthy California Cabernet from Philip Togni, Futo, and Vine Hill Ranch. Burgundy collectors will find Roulot’s outstanding Bourgogne Blancs and Clos des Bouchères, while recent additions from a single-owner Italian cellar feature Aldo Conterno, Giacomo Conterno, and Cascina Penna Currado. Champagne is especially well represented with two great vintages of Dom Pérignon, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne Rosé, classic Pierre Péters, Dhondt Grellet, Savart & Chartogne’s collab, and, of course, Adrien Renoir and Pierre Paillard. Don’t miss breakout star Baravéou’s incredibly ageworthy (and affordable) Bandol rouge, and for an unforgettable gathering, we’ve also added a generous supply of Macallan Harmony Collection Rich Cacao, one of the outstanding releases in Macallan’s Harmony series and an excellent bottle to have on hand for after-dinner pours.
