New Arrivals from Chevillon and Lafon to Bernaudeau

As we continue our swift pace of adding new arrivals, it’s easy to miss some of the great wines that have come in over the last few weeks. Today, we’re revisiting highlights from recent collections along with a few choice new additions.

We have a lovely parcel of aged Chevillon, perfect for drinking now or cellaring a bit longer. Chevillon continues to impress with elegant, pleasure-filled wines that remain remarkably approachable in price. What sets them apart is their ability to draw finesse, perfume, and precision from a village better known for muscular, earthy wines. Their style marries power and structure with surprising silkiness and purity, anchored by truly old vines (50 – 80+ years). House favorite Faiveley also continues to deliver consistent quality and age-worthiness, and we’ve got a few mature bottles today.

Next, a genius grower of Chenin Blanc who is red hot right now: Stéphane Bernaudeau. These tiny-production, expressive Chenins (fewer than 1,000 cases across all cuvées) have reached cult status since the debut vintage in 2000. Though low-intervention, they are clean, pure, non-oxidative, and capable of aging 15 – 20 years. They always sell out, so we’re thrilled to offer a parcel.

Rounding things out: a couple of aged Bordeaux (including 100-pt Cheval Blanc) and a few bottles remain of perfectly stored Vega Sicilia Unico from last week’s exceptional single-owner collection. And don’t miss the highly rated Drouhin Musigny, Lamy-Caillat’s standout Chassagnes (all with big scores), and an incredible magnum of Keller’s iconic Abtserde GG, one of the world’s most sought-after dry Rieslings, and our last bit of 2010 Continuum – perfect if you are looking for a classically balanced Napa cab that’s ready to drink now.
