Iconic Verticals
Hello Collectors,
We’ve grouped together recent arrivals into an enticing range of verticals spanning Bordeaux, California, Australia, and Burgundy. It might seem obvious, but verticals offer a unique window into a grower’s signature style while highlighting vintage variation. They’re a fantastic way to deepen your understanding of a wine’s evolution across years – or even decades. Even if you already have these in your cellar, it’s a wonderful opportunity to taste through a portfolio, revisit vintages, and check in on their development without opening your own cases.
Starting in Bordeaux, we’ve added a strong lineup of Château Mouton Rothschild. One of the most memorable tastings I’ve attended was a vertical from 1975 to 2000 – an unforgettable chance to experience each vintage side by side and uncover some truly underrated years. An equally remarkable experience would be a vertical of vintage Krug or a dinner built entirely around these special bottles.
From California, the range runs from perennial superstar Aubert Wines’s Lauren Chardonnay to the terrific value of L’Aventure, a name rapidly ascending beyond Paso. We’ve also been fortunate to taste several vintages of Philip Togni’s classically vibrant Cabernet, which continues to prove itself built for the ages.
In Burgundy, the verticals speak for themselves. Domaine Dujac’s Clos de la Roche and Clos St. Denis are an epic pairing, both with stellar ratings. Domaine François Lamarche’s La Grande Rue—a jewel of Vosne-Romanée, neighbor of La Tâche and produced in minuscule quantities—is available in a rare vertical of 2002, 2003, and 2005; and the Musigny standard-bearer, Vogüé, spans 3 decades with highly-rated 1995, 2003, and 2018. Tasting through these vintages would be a truly extraordinary experience.
For a completely different expression, Hundred Acre’s bottlings are phenomenal Aussie Shiraz, while Chave, is, of course, the pinnacle of Syrah. How about a side-by-side vertical of Hermitage and Ancient Way Summer’s Block – a meeting of legends from opposite hemispheres!
And best of all, everything is already here in the U.S. (no tariffs!) and comes with impeccable provenance, as always.
