The Wines

Clos Apalta is one of Chile’s most iconic wines and a consistent presence on the world stage of fine wine. A Bordeaux-inspired blend led by Carmenère, with Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, this is a deep, structured red with layers of dark fruit, spice, and tobacco. Produced from low-yielding old vines and aged in French oak, it balances richness with remarkable freshness and aging potential. A true benchmark for South American wine.

Le Petit Clos is Clos Apalta’s second wine—but in name only. Made with the same attention to detail, it’s a vibrant, more approachable expression of the estate’s fruit. A slightly different blend—often with a bit more Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah—gives this wine a more fruit-forward and supple profile, while still delivering the depth and complexity that defines Apalta. A perfect introduction to the estate’s signature style.

Clos du Lican is the latest jewel from Domaines Bournet-Lapostolle, crafted from a dramatic, high-altitude vineyard in the Apalta Valley. Made entirely from Syrah, it’s a bold yet refined expression of the grape, with deep, inky fruit, floral aromatics, and a signature mineral tension from the granite-rich soils. Aged in large oak foudres to preserve purity and elegance, Clos du Lican is a powerful yet poised wine that showcases the exceptional potential of Chilean Syrah.

Clos Apalta Vinothèque is a rare library release, aged under perfect conditions at the estate and offered only after a decade of cellaring. Each vintage is selected for optimal maturity, showing the full depth, complexity, and elegance that Clos Apalta develops with time.
