The NV Extra-Brut Rosé Fac-Simile is drop-dead gorgeous. Bright and effusive, but with tons of depth, the Fac-Simile shows just how compelling Rosé can be here. Even so, this needs cellaring. Very much like the Blanc, the Rosé comes across as not totally put together. Bright red-toned fruit, spice, dried herbs, mint and crushed flowers abound in this savory, deceptively mid-weight Rosé, a Champagne that really blossoms with aeration. This release is based on a core of 2020, with 20% reserve wines from 2019, plus 12% still red Meunier. Dosage is 2.5 grams per liter. Disgorged: October, 2022. [Antonio Galloni, 12/15/2022]
