The NV (2017) Extra-Brut Ambonnay Le Bout du Clos is the most expressive of the three Pinot Noir lieux-dits, but then again, this parcel has a good bit of Chardonnay. Creamy and ample, with terrific palate presence, the 2017 is alluring from the very first taste. Lemon confit, pear, white flowers and plum form a complex fabric of textures. Because of the challenges with the Pinot, this edition is a blend of 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay, as opposed to the more typical 80/20 blend. Dosage is 2 grams per liter. Disgorged: January 18, 2024.
Anticipated maturity: 2024-2030
