The 2024 Chablis Fôrets 1er Cru has a compelling nose, touches of beeswax infusing the yellow fruit, hints of smoke and grilled almonds emerging with time, all wonderfully defined. The palate is taut and tensile right from the beginning (unlike the preceding Vaillons), lightly spiced, with a little more weight and grip here and a long, slightly peppery finish that has the sapidity to tempt you back for more.
