The 2024 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Vaucrains 1er Cru perhaps does not quite have the brightness or the éclat of some of Chevillon’s other Premier Crus, a little sullen at the moment, perhaps still upset about the growing season. The palate is a different matter with finely chiselled tannins, more granular in texture, quite tactile with impressive weight and poise towards the pure finish. If the aromatics gel and gain complexity this could be a gem. [Neal Martin, 01/01/2026]
