The 2024 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru, now 55% terre blanche and 45% terre rouge, has impressive intensity on the nose with ebullient red fruit that feels quite mineral-driven and hints of iris and violet. The palate is probably the most backward of Roumier’s cuvĂ©es. Good backbone and gentle grip, but there is impressive depth to this Bonnes-Mares with a sapid marine-tinged finish that lingers temptingly. Not the greatest Bonnes-Mares I have ever tasted from this esteemed address; nevertheless, it is a gorgeous wine in the making. [Neal Martin, 01/01/2026]
