The 2024 Gevrey-Chambertin Aux Echézeaux 1er Cru has an exquisite bouquet with brambly red berry fruit tinged with Lapsang Souchong, a hint of bouquet garni and pencil shavings. Very fine delineation. The palate is medium-bodied with a bright and very harmonious opening. Dark berry fruit, touches of black tea with just a slight attenuation towards the finish and just a kiss of sour cherry on the aftertaste. [Neal Martin, 01/01/2026]
