2022 Joseph Drouhin, Beaune Premier Cru, Le Clos des Mouches Blanc 1x750ml

The 2022 Beaune Clos des Mouches Blanc 1er Cru had been racked into tank a fortnight earlier. It will cohere on the nose, but it already shows much promise: citrus fruit and orange pith, subtle touches of beeswax and white flowers. The medium-bodied palate has a fine definition and the best acidity of the whites I tasted, with fine tension on the finish. This should age well in bottle. [Neal Martin, 01/11/2024]
