2022 Domaine Robert Chevillon, Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru, Les Saints-Georges 1x750ml

The 2022 Nuits Saint-Georges Les Saint-Georges 1er Cru has impressive purity on the nose. It takes a few swirls of the glass to get motoring, but there is fine delineation, quite precocious black fruit mixed with dried iris and violets. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins matched by a silver bead of acidity. Quite tensile, it is slightly powdery towards the finish, fanning out in a confident fashion. Give it four or five years to assimilate the oak – it’s a serious and compelling Les Saint-Georges. [Neal Martin, 01/11/2024]
