The 2022 Chablis Vaillons 1er Cru has a well-defined bouquet of yellow fruit and hints of praline and fruits de mer, quite complex and mercurial in the glass. Wonderful purity here. The palate is extremely well-balanced with a sapid entry. It’s quite grippy with a little more extract than other cuvées, salinity flooding through this Vaillons towards the finish—classic Vaillons with a little more strictness than you might presuppose given the growing season.
