The 2022 Romanée-Conti Grand Cru was picked on 1 September at 37.3 hL/ha. It is not quite as deep in color as the La Tâche. But in another way, this is more immediate and comes out with all guns blazing, a kaleidoscope of red berry fruit, crushed stone, cumin, traces of Earl Grey and undergrowth. The palate is framed by filigree tannins that lend this Romanée-Conti unerring symmetry. Satin-textured, refined and graceful, this is not understated but imbued with a sense of effortlessness.
