2022 Domaine Bruno Clair, Gevrey-Chambertin Premier Cru, Fonteny 1x750ml

The 2022 Gevrey-Chambertin Clos du Fonteny 1er Cru has red and black fruit on the nose, with hints of dried violet petals and sous-bois percolating through with time in the glass. The palate is quite closed at the moment, but the energy and balance are clear to see. The rather grippy finish suggests it will age well in bottle. It’s very promising, but patience is needed.
