The 2022 Clos du Marquis is powerful and driving, with the tannins very much in evidence. It will be interesting to see the direction this takes. The fruit is quite sumptuous, but the tannins are also forbidding, at least today. Hints of tobacco, cedar, licorice and cloves linger on the virile, imposing finish.
