“The Borgo del Tiglio 2022 Collio Ronco della Chiesa (in the dark green label) is another inspiring expression from one of Italy’s most exciting white-wine artisans. The grape is Friulano (aged in barrique for 10 months), and the complexity that has been pulled out of this single variety is extraordinary. The wine builds in intensity, imparting white peach, nectarine, poached pear and crushed limestone. There are hints of baked sweet bread or buttery croissant. The wine offers medium fruit weight with balanced acidity. This is a gorgeous wine, and that quality clearly comes from the fruit more than the winemaking.
