A more complex and more floral-suffused nose offers up notes of rosemary oil, petrol and citrus zest. There is again excellent punch to the utterly delicious medium weight flavors that possess fine mid-palate density while displaying excellent length on the youthfully austere finale. The 2021 Chassagne-Montrachet Blanc delivers aromas of white flowers, pear, orange zest and nutmeg, followed by a medium to full-bodied, racy and perfumed palate framed by chalky structure and concluding with an impressively long, saline finish. If Moreau can deliver quality like this, with sites like this, in a vintage like this, the future clearly holds great things for him. [William Kelley, 01/31/2023]
