The 2020 Barolo Villero offers up blue fruit, lavender, spice, mint, new leather and grilled herbs. Brisk acids and veins of tannin confer freshness. It will be interesting to see if the 2020 softens in bottle. Today, it is decidedly nervous. Even so, the Villero has real palate presence and notable explosive energy. [Antonio Galloni, 04/01/2024]
