The 2020 Meursault Meix Chavaux is bright and steely right out of the gate. Like the Vireuils, it is airy and understated in bearing, but it also comes across as a bit leaner and more tense. Deeper soils here vis-à-vis Vireuils might lead one to the conclusion the Meix Chavaux should be richer, but it’s actually not, as the soils are abundant in limestone.
