Well-defined with white pepper, bay leaf and mineral scents, the 2019 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru has a slightly more savory nose, perhaps due to more whole bunch usage here. Complex and involving, the palate is medium-bodied, with a beautifully balanced opening. The fruit is primal and luscious, yet there remains structure, a gentle/insistent grip and a chewy finish. Just give it time to find its groove, and I’m sure it will merit a couple more points. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.
