The 2019 Vecina is a dense, explosive wine that also reflects a move towards greater freshness and energy in the Bond wines. There’s so much to the 2019, but it clearly is going to need a few years in bottle to be at its best. Dark red-toned fruit, cedar, tobacco and expressive savory notes suggest a bright future lies ahead.
Anticipated maturity: 2027-2039
From an iron-rich site just north of the Oakville Crossroad, the 2019 St. Eden boasts effusive aromas of ripe cherries and briary raspberries framed by subtle cedar shadings. Full-bodied, silky, plush and long, this is a terrific all-around effort that deserves a few years in the cellar and should drink well for at least two decades thereafter.
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2045
