Tasting Notes
Vinous 94
Dark, bright-hued ruby. An expansive, complex bouquet evokes ripe cherry and black raspberry, along with pungent floral, exotic spice and earth notes. Stains the palate with sweet red and dark berry, lavender pastille and fruitcake flavors that spread out steadily and become livelier on the back half. Conveys a suave blend of richness and energy and finishes impressively long and juicy, with harmonious tannins and resonating florality. [Josh Raynolds, 24/08/2021]

The 2018 Morgon Cote du Py is showing very nicely, offering up a classy bouquet of raspberries and plums, mingled with hints of orange rind, violet and cardamom. Medium to full-bodied, deep and complete, with a fleshy but elegantly understated core and an expansive finish. Impressively integrateda indeed, it was only after spending half an hour with the bottle that I noticed that it’s labeled at 14.5% alcohola with powdery tannins and succulent balancing acids, it’s another fine rendition of this iconic cuvee.
