The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru displays notes of ripe cherries, plums and pomegranate, framed by delicate top notes of warm spices and peonies. Medium to full-bodied, rich and layered on the palate, it’s fleshy and enveloping, with fine depth at the core, succulent acids and a perfumed finish. [William Kelley, 01/05/2020]

Vinous 94

The 2017 Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru has a very expressive bouquet with scents of pressed rose petal that infuse the multi-layered red fruit. I like the mineral expression of this cru. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, very well balanced with wonderful poise on the sensual, pixelated finish. Give this three or four years in bottle before broaching.
