“A blend of 80% Clairette and 20% Roussanne that spent six months in demi-muids, the 2016 Chateauneuf du Pape Blanc isn’t yet the equal of the estate’s reds. Slightly reductive at first, hinting at tar and green onion, it blossoms with air into a full-bodied, orangey wine that finishes on a briny note.”
Anticipated maturity: 2017-2020
Pale gold. Mineral-accented aromas of Anjou pear, tangerine and jasmine, plus hints of smoky minerals and ginger. Silky and focused on the palate, offering concentrated citrus and orchard fruit and honeysuckle flavors underscored by a core of juicy acidity. The long, sappy finish shows a building mineral quality, sharp focus and strong tenacity.
Anticipated maturity: 2022-2028
