Medium red. Very ripe aromas of candied raspberry and flowers. At once dense and juicy, with a captivating high-toned quality to its exotic red berry fruit. Finishes with very smooth tannins. Not a minerally style but notably easygoing. [Stephen Tanzer, 01/02/2018]

“The 2016 Gevrey Chambertin Clos du Château is matured entirely in used oak. It has a lovely, pretty, fruit-driven bouquet with lifted pure strawberry and Morello cherry scents, airy in style. The palate has a candied quality on the entry, a fine bead of acidity with tart red fruit defining the slightly abrupt finish that should gain flesh after bottling.” [Neal Martin, 12/29/2017]
