The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny Les Fuees 1er Cru has a gorgeous, seductive, pure bouquet that epitomizes everything there is to love about a premier cru from this appellation. The aromatics… you almost want to smooch with them to a Lionel Richie ballad. The beautifully balanced palate presents filigreed tannin, perfectly pitched acidity and good substance, and hints of graphite surface toward the pixelated finish of this brilliant Chambolle-Musigny from Ghislaine-Barthod. Stunning. Tasted blind at the annual Burgfest tasting.
Anticipated maturity: 2023-2045
"Tasted blind, Barthod’s 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Fuees is stunningly good, bursting from the glass with a seductive bouquet of raspberries, cherries, rose petal, violets and strawberries that exemplifies all the charm of Chambolle. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, lavish and textural, with a deep core of juicy fruit that largely conceals its fine tannins, and the finish is long and fragrant."
Anticipated maturity: 2025-2050
