Good dark red. Very ripe but youthfully muted aromas of redcurrant and smoky, spicy oak complicated by licorice and crushed rock nuance. The deepest of these 2015s to this point, but with harmonious acidity giving definition and shape to its red and darker berry, spice and mineral flavors. More vertical than horizontal on the back half, displaying its high-altitude lift in its energy and precision. Finishes classically dry and very long, with firm but ripe tannins and alluring floral perfume and crushed-stone minerality. Has all the elements to make a great, long-lived bottle. The 2015 Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Aux Reignots has a very complex bouquet with black cherry, mulberry, cold slate, blood orange and crushed violet aromas that are beautifully defined and appear to flourish in the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with fine-grain tannin, very focused and with stunning salinity. It gently fans out with subtle touches of clove and sage furnishing the structured, authoritative finish that suggest it should age for many years. [Neal Martin, 09/28/2017]
