Tasting Notes

Vinous 91

(Tremblay vinified this wine with 70% whole clusters to maintain vivacity): Healthy medium-dark red. Lovely spicy, floral high tones to the dark raspberry and licorice aromas. Dense, sappy and spicy in the mouth, conveying the creamy mid-palate texture of the vintage’s better examples with a high pitch that I rarely find in lower-altitude Chambolles in 2015. (Again, the later bottling–in July of this year–appears to have been very constructive for maintaining vivacity.) Finishes with serious breadth, a firm spine of ripe tannins and lingering notes of dark berries, licorice and spices. [Stephen Tanzer, 01/01/2018]

Robert Parker 89

The 2015 Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Feusselottes has quite a high-toned bouquet with scents of Indian ink tincturing the blueberry and raspberry fruit. This is the most ostentatious of aromatic profiles produced by Cecile Tremblay in this vintage. The palate is medium-bodied with sappy red berry fruit and suggests good substance and weight in the mouth, though I would like a little more mineralite and tension to manifest on the finish. I am probably being parsimonious with my score here, though it is a reflection of how I think some of the domaine’s other crus have more long-term potential. [Neal Martin, 28/09/2017]
